As women are and continue to be a strong half of the workforce, pushing industry and innovation forward, the motherhood penalty continues to be a silent but demeaning and demoralizing issue that women in the workplace face their whole careers, whether they choose to have children or not. A women’s earning potential decreases with each child she chooses to have. The purpose of The Mom Tax is to bring awareness to this issue. People love to talk about the wage gap, argue how much it is or if it exists at all, but what people aren’t talking about is the fact that motherhood can be the biggest contributor to this problem.
