Humanity is using too much plastic and Northeastern is part of the problem. The world's systems for recycling cannot handle the amount of plastic waste being created. Northeastern's campus outputs about 500 pounds worth of single-use plastic containers each day. There is a lack of awareness in the Northeastern student community regarding recycling. (Re)use Me believes that young people will change their behavior when they are shown their actions can be harmful and provide simple solutions, like re-usable cups.
